In some forgotten forest clearing at the edge of the Zylxian kingdom, you come upon a modest building. Its walls are of crumbling stone bricks and it's roof is partially gone. Still, it seems that some one had done with it the best they could to make it presentable. You step towards it and as you do the door opens with a creak and a sharp eared man steps out. He wears clean white robes and many strings of red and blue beads.
"Hello," he says with an enthusiastic smile. "You're the first visitor we've had in years!"
"Visitor? To what?" You ask stupidly.
"To this," he gestures over his shoulder at the building.
"What is it?" You ask him.
"It's a shrine to all of the greatest heroes Zylx ever had," he answers and looks at the building admiringly. "Come on in. I'll show you some of the greats..."
The man leads you up to one of the many statues in the room. There is a plaque at it's base written in a language you cannot read. You ask, "What does it mean?"
The man reads it for you:
Pike Desoto
Son of No One
From the rainbow gates of the Junction of realms Pike Desoto came one day. To Prince Sythe's side he was called immediately so that he might right the great injustice of Zylx. He was called to the Prince's side so that he might take back the Prince's sceptor from the demon that held it. With grace he accomplished this goal and saved Zylx from death-bringing corruption, but his success was too late to save the Prince, who killed himself just hours before the hero's triumphant return. So Pike Desoto went himself to tell Prince Sythe's son the terrible news and to tell the boy that he must be king.
Raettonus
Son of No One
This souless demon does not age. For a thousand years he's kept his home around the divine staircase that the gods call Noa Lokul. Around his icy fortess this demon burries those who were forgotten in their death. With far away eyes he's often said to those with the courage to hear him, 'I used to be human...'. For many years he was an enemy to the crown but when war time showed upon Zylx with all the death and suffering that followed it, he stood up to fight. It was because of his scorcery that the Kingdom still remains. He is the only one to which credit can be given. But none ever was and, only five decades past the war's end, he died at his own hand.
