The Koa Kurok Desert
Return
Waves of crimson sand stretch endlessly before you. The sun is setting fast, casting orange shadows upon your skin. The pink fades from the clouds as the sun disappears, but the warmth stays strong. There are no birds, no plants, no animals. Even so, this place has a feeling that it's definately alive some where.
The night sets in fully and the red desert is still. You continue along but the deeper into the vast undulating sand dunes you venture the greater feeling of apprehension you get. Some where far off you hear a sound as of a man's voice as he speaks harshly to another. You stop and stare in the direction you think it came from.
Three figures, cloaked and hooded, come over the dune after a moment on dark leathery wings. Like death itself, they glide towards you with purpose. You stumble back, terrifyed, and turn to run but, much to your distress, three more figures are from that direction headed.
The first three look at the second three and then the one in the middle shouts in an alien tongue. The second group shouts back and all of the sudden they charge each other and a bloody fight, punctuated by screams and strange exploding lights, ensues.
"Knock this off!" A voice yells and, from the shadows themselves, a man with long sharp ears appears. The six figures stop their fighting with murmurs of 'yes, Master Guardian' and then, as quickly as they first came, disappear off into the desert.
The sharp eared man looks at you and you look back at him for a moment. He's pale with yellow eyes and dark, straight, sleek hair which comes to about his shoulders. He says after a while, "You shouldn't be walking the desert at night. It's dangerous. Why don't you get going..."
Quickly you nod and walk quickly away. Remembering yourself you turn back and say, with a slight bow, "Thank you so much, sir."
The vampire man nods in acknowledgement and then melts into the shadows that surround him as you try to get away fast as you can from this place.
