Return
Held gently between the sand dunes of the Koa Kurok desert, you find a great walled city. At the gate of the city two large black wolves rest. You approach them cautiously and they look up but do no more than that. They let you pass into the city without protest.
The city is filled with many people talking cheerily. All of them wear clothes made entirely from wolves' pelt. Odd, you think, since the only wolves you've seen were the ones that guarded the city.
Stalls selling various goods have been set up along the edges of the street. Vendors fight for the attention of passerby and customers bargin for goods. All in all, it strikes you as a calm day here.
You walk through the merry town, observing the life around you closely. You come to an orchard growing within the city's walls. A worker looks up as you pass him along a neat cobblestone path that cuts through the trees. He smiles in a warm and friendly fashion and you smile back.
Beyond the orchard, there are a few feilds and pens full of goats and sheep. You pass the bleating live stock and come upon more buildings.
The streets between these buildings, however, are not nearly as crowded and the structures themselves are smaller. You're inclined to think, based on those facts and the number of children running about the streets, that this is a residential area.
"You there!" a man calls from an open doorway. His eyes are bright and his hair is an unremarkable shade of brown. He appears to be in his mid-twenties. He motions to you, "Yes! You!"
"Me?" you ask and walk over to him. "What do you want with me?"
He ushers you inside the building, which turns out to be a small store stocked mostly with heavy weapons. The man says, "Well, you seemed to be only wandering and, really, there's no better place to wander than my store! Have a look around!"
"Um, I really wasn't looking to buy anything--" you say nervously.
"Nonsense!" he responds. "Just look at this selection! You--"
"I suppose I might consider buying something," you say. "If you could answer a couple of things for me."
"Alright," he agrees. "What would you like to know?"
"Well, first, how about your name? And the name of this town?"
"The town is Myrashekk--best place you'll ever find in a godless desert like the Koa Kurok. My name is Tebarik."
"What are the inhabitants of the city?" you ask. They had appeared human, but something had been strange about them.
"We're werewolves, the great sons of Virkki himself," Tebarik responds cheerily.
"Then, what about those wolf pelts you wear?"
"It's our fur. You wouldn't expect us to just go walking around with out it, would you?"
  "Well, why not?"
"Because, we need all of it to transform. And if we couldn't transform, how would we hunt, or defend ourselves?"
"Well, thank you for satisfying my curiousity," you say and head out the door. "I'll be going now."
"Wait!" Tebarik calls after you. "You didn't buy anything!"
"Maybe next time!" you call back and then you're gone.
