God of gods, of warriors, of guardians, Kurok is the son of Kraah Shohk. He spends his time in the Gods' Spring keeping the peace between immortals. The elemental pillars bow to him and him alone. The guardians keep the peace intact on Zylx and patrol the five holy sites--the Koa Kurok, the Noa Kurok, the Center of Souls, the Junction of Realms and the Dragon's Teeth Mountain Range. It is through them he usually communicates with Zylx. Only in times of extreme crisis does he leave the Gods' Spring.
Kraah Shohk
The great creator from which all the universe sprang. It was by his tears the elves came to be and by his blood the Holy Twelve were born. When civil war broke out in the heavens, he fought bravely. The First Divine Campaigne was his death, however. He was avenged by his son Kurok.
Virkki
God of Heroic Rescue, wolves and community, Virkki was one of the Holy Tweleve born of Kraah Shohk's spilt blood. He was the father of the werewolves and of the monster Dibae. His eye was taken from him and used in a hideous monster created by Kimohr Raulinn. Later, that eye was turned into a gem and lost some where in the Zylxian wilds.
Kimohr Raulin
The god of choas, Kimohr Raulinn's powers are vast and strange. He was born with a rotting mask of wood upon his face, a demon's likeness. His domain is broad and abstract, giving him abilities which are nearly unstopable. Surely, if it pleased him to do so, he could usurp the heavens from Kurok. But, for reasons unknown, it does not seem his goal to have control over all gods, only to frustrate them. Monster after monster Kimohr Raulinn breathes life into, only to cause mass hysteria and much bloodshed. He lost one of his arms chasing a mortal who had stolen from him across the desert.
Cykkus
The god of death and pain, Cykkus keeps his hall in the underworld. Underneath the armour he wears always, he is himself a most terrible corpse, the sight of which will kill all mortals. His presence drains the life out of the things around him and his touch is fatal. He flies on black wings from Hell to Zylx and back again, taking those who will not die on their own. The vampires call him father, though he refuses to acknowledge it due to the shameful way those creatures that feed on blood came about.
GUARDIANS
High
Bregdan
As a mortal, Bregdan was a healer unicorn. He found Kurok wounded during the first Divine Campaign and, sacrificing the last of his own health, revived the god. As a reward for his noble deed, Kurok gave Bregdan a perfect and immortal body. Thus Bregdan became the first High Guardian, sworn to protect Zylx and Justice and to serve Lord Kurok.
Dokkdan
Once Dokkdan was a healer called Dokkarikhan who wandered the woods treating those wounded in the wild. The village in which he had grown up had been raided by centaur savages and his family slaughtered. Despite this, he treated even wounded centaurs. This impartial, caring nature won him Kurok's favor and the god named him the second Guardian.
Bidan
Bidan was a beaten cur when he was mortal. A mistake on the part of the great Lord Kurok granted him the Fire Pillar and for many years he was a decent Guardian, protecting perhaps the greatest holy site that Zylx does hold--the Gods' Staircase, Noa Lokul. A mortal came, eventually, to Noa Lokul, however, and his mere presence was enough to keep all other mortals away. This relief in his duty gave Bidan time to think and to brood on the wrongs that the Centaurian race had done him and the world in general. He attacked Bribarrah and was dismissed by Kurok as a result, making him the first Corrupt Guardian.
Rhigdan
During the bloodiest and most unforgiving Divine Campaign, Rhigdan was a mortal gryphon. He chewed off his own wings to feed his young chicks as the massive amount of death had made food scarce. One day, however, while he was out hunting, his chicks were taken by wolves. As he attempted to hunt them down he came upon Kurok who took pity on the poor beast and made his wings sprout anew. Kurok was attacked, then, and Rhigdan sacrificed those wings he had just gotten to save the god. Such sacrifice did, in Kurok's mind, merit the position of Guardian and Rhigdan was given the powers of the Wind Pillar.
Nekkdan
Nekkdan was made a Guardian after he stood up to a serphant of water that Sobrikka, god of oceans, had made under Kurok's command to test the residents of the Dragon's Teeth Mountains for one of outstanding courage.
Shidan
Three hundred years after Bidan's disgraceful dismissal from Guardianship, the minotaur Shidan was chosen to become the fire pillar due to the many heroic deeds he had done for his village, most noteably slaying a vicious ice dragon who had been tainted by Kimohr Raulinn's dark magic.
Lybridan
Almost immediatly after Dokkdan's dismissal, a vampire called Lybak Risha was chosen as the new Shadow Pillar. Lybridan had been the apprentice of a cruel executioner in the vampirian village of Sigah Nur Kiannah and, many times, had been beaten by his master for his loyalty to Kurok. Kurok chose Lybridan for his new Guardian simply because of every creature in the Koa Kurok desert, Lybridan had the most loyalty to the Kurok and his Guardians.
Low
Sowel
A dragon of massive proportions, Sowel is the Low Guardian of the Centre of Souls. His long body completely encircles the Centre of Souls as he lies in the river that is it's boundry, his snout upon his tail. No one, not even Kurok himself, knows why Bregdan chose Sowel to serve as the Low Guardian of the Centre of Souls. It is especially strange as the Unicorn Guardian seems to show nothing but apathy towards Sowel.
Hindrian
Chosen by Rhigdan as the Low Guardian of the Junction of Realms, the elf Hindrian is bound to guard the dense northern forests as well as the Junction. It's very rare to ever actually see the elf guard, as his domain is so large and he sticks mostly to thick trees so as not to be noticed, intervening only when it's absolutely necessary. His primary job is to make sure the Crystal of the Junction of Realms is not harmed.
Ripan
Ripan, a goblin, is the Low Guardian of the Dragon's Teeth Mountain Range. Nekkdan chose him because he had, often, followed the Guardian around helping when he could. He protects the shrines of the Gods of Justice which have been built in the Mountains. Also, he destroys anything he comes across that has been built in the Mountains to glorify any God of Rebelion.
